5 things to do at Aceh Culinary Fest 2016 - A three-day Acehnese culinary festival is back again from May 10 through May 12 in Blang Padang, Banda Aceh. This year, the focus remains on traditional drinks, snack, and food party.
Here is a list of five things to do and see throughout the 3-day festival:
1. Food Party
Annually held in the outdoor area main hall of Blang Padang food festival is probably the most sought-after event of the entire festival.
There should be a night national record-breaking Teut Apam (making apam) by 1000 furnace held at the opening of this festival. On the second day, There was Kuah Beulangong (beef with spicy curry sauce cook) served to the visitor.

2. Savor local cuisine
This year, the venue decorated has been transformed to look like black board and with chalks with clear information for each food stalls filling the area and serving traditional dishes from around the country
Various food dishes and traditional delicacies can be found at the place. Foodies can try the savory Mie Aceh (noodles cook with Aceh seasoning), Kanji Rumbi (starch slurry porridge with veggies chicken, shrimp, and more) and Martabak Telur (Aceh egg crepe with pickles).
Or indulge themselves with sweet treats and snacks like Cane Saka (flatbread with sugar), Roti Sele Samahani (Bread with sweet jam made of eggs sugar and coconut cream). Food prices during the festival range from Rp 7,000 (less than US$1) to Rp 50,000.
3. Try some coffee
The organizers offer an exhibition that presents 25 booths which will condition the traditional coffee shop, coffee roasting factory, distributor of coffee products, experts and the community of coffee lovers.

4. Challenge yourself be a barista
Single Hand Manual Brew Challenge is open to the public. The barista challenged to demonstrate manual skills brew using only one hand. There was also a Class Coffee is one content requirement educational events held participated, ranging from cupping session, basic barista skills, latte art class, roasting session, and many more. Experts of the school's popular coffee and a coffee shop renowned capital were also invited to attend.
5. Join photo competition
Open to both professionals and non-professionals, the photo competition let you to take as much as you can a traditional food or drinkin Aceh Culinary Fest 2016 area, and share it to your Instagram account and mention @disbudpar_aceh @festivalkulinernusantara in the photo caption.
